Creating a Sustainability Plan
We look at testing both the owner’s and their business’s resilience and provide coaching and advice on how to increase that strength to cope with the aftermath of the Covid-19 lockdown and outbreak in New Zealand. This Advisory work is around pivoting and supporting the business to create a Sustainability Plan.Â
Support can take place by way of video conferencing and/or one-on-one. This support and advice will cover the effect of the current restrictions being placed on New Zealand businesses as well as working with you to come up with potential ways to manage and minimise the financial impact on your business, while creating a sustainable business model for the future.Â
This support and advice will cover a number of topics with an aim to increase both the owner’s and their business’s resilience to the effects of a significant Covid-19 lockdown. We investigate:
- How the current subsidies available for businesses, are affecting trading
- How the business is currently trading
- How to create sustainability within the business and eventually grow again.Â
The Sustainability plan will cover:Â
Human Resources
Aligning human resources to the sustainability plan, while identifying all key staff and to provide them support.Â
Health & Wellness
Covers the need for business owners to stay in contact with their employees making sure they are aware of the Sustainability plan. As a Business Advisor it is also one of our duties to stay in contact with business owners during times of business stress and change.Â
Business Planning
Along with Business Continuity Planning – (short, medium and long-term plans) include how to cope with the immediate issues, challenging the business model and providing a recovery plan. This may not be a quick recovery.Â
Financial Planning
This will include the impact of a downtown in your business from both reduced production (staff shortages) and a decrease in demand, the cost of changing your market strategy, cost cutting, cashflow management, refinancing loans, staff redundancies, etc.Â
Cashflow Management
Includes full cashflow planning including refinancing loans at lower interest rate, interest rate holidays, the use of Government subsidies and tax deferments.Â
Business Planning
Along with Business Continuity Planning – (short, medium and long-term plans) include how to cope with the immediate issues, challenging the business model and providing a recovery plan. This may not be a quick recovery.Â
Government Funding
We check all funding (Potential Government funding and tax relief) that is available and ensure that you can provide the required proof of eligibility.Â
Financial Review
Analyse how the business is currently operating (good or bad), allow for the implementation of key drivers to better understand the business and provide the basepoint, if required, for any potential Inland Revenue claim.Â
Business Resilience
Identify your competitive edge/advantage, which is key to building both your own and your business’s resilience. What do you do well and what do you do better than anyone else?Â
Market Analysis
Identify every sector that you currently operate in and any new sectors that you could operate in. Analyse the effect of Covid-19 on each sector and then implement a strategy to pivot/target the least affected sectors.Â
